Uthappam ingredients:

  • 1 cup idly batter
  • 1 onion (finelly chopped)
  • 2 green chillies (chopped)
  • 1/2" fresh ginger root
  • few curry leaves (chopped)
  • few coriander leaves (chopped)
  • oil for sprinkle

Uthappam preparation: 

  • Add chopped onions, chopped green chillies, minced ginger root, chopped curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves to the idly batter and mix well.
  • Heat the non-stick tawa and pour a laddle full of batter and spread like a thick dosa.
  • Sprinkle a spoon full of oil around the uthapam.
  • cook on low flame for 5 mins.
  • Now turn over on the other side and again cook for 2-3 mins.
  • Remove from the tawa and serve oothappam with coconut chutnet or sambar.  

Prep.time: 10 mins
cooking time: 8-10mins

Serves: 2-4
