Urad dal chutney
ingredients:
- 1 cup urad dhal
- 1 onion sliced
- 1" frresh ginger root
- small lemon size tamarind
- 5 red chillies or to taste
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
- salt to taste
- oil 1 tbsp
Urad dal chutney
preparation:
- Heat a pan with oil and add urad dal.
- Roast on low flame till they turn into golden yellow
colour.
- Remove from flame and keep aside.
- Then red chillies, coriander seeds, mustard seeds,
cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds.
- Roast on low flame till you get a nice aroma.
- Remove from flame and keep aside.
- Then add sliced onions and saute till they turn into
transparent.
- Remove from flame and set aside.
- Allow the roasted ingredients to cool for some
time.
- Now blend the roasted ingredients along with fresh
ginger, soaked tamarind and required quantity of salt in a
blender.
- Add water if necessary and adjust salt.
- Transfer into serving bowl and serve with hot plain
white rice with ghee.
