Spinach vada
ingredients:
- 2 cups chana dhal
- 1 cup spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2" fresh ginger root, minced
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 2 red chillies or to taste
- 1/2 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- few curry leaves, finely chopped
- few coriander leaves, finely chopped
- salt to taste
- oil for deep fry
Keera vadai
preparation:
- Clean, wash and soak the dhal for 2-4 hrs.
- Grind the dhal with red chillies, coriander seeds,
fennel seeds, ginger and salt.
- Grind coarsely without adding any water.
- Add chopped spinac, onions, coriander leaves, curry
leaves and adjust salt.
- Heat a deep pan with oil.
- Taka a lemon size dhal mixture and flatten it with your
palms.
- Slowly drop the flattened chana dhal mixture into oil
and deep fry untill it turns into golden brown colour.
- Drain excess oil and serve warm.
- Serve with tomato sauce or ketchup.
