Shahi pulao

(delicious and yummy rice recipe)

Shahi pulao ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2-4 green chillies or to taste
  • 1-2 shah jeera (blach cumin)
  • few saffron strands (soak in 1 tbsp of warm milk)
  • few coriander leaves, roughly chopped
  • few mint leaves, roughly chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp ghee or oil

Shahi pulao preparation:

  • Take a pressure cooker or pot and heat with ghee or oil.
  • Add black cumin (shah jeera). When they start to pop add sliced onions.
  • Saute till the onions become transparent.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste and sliced green chillies.
  • Saute till the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the mixture.
  • Now add chopped coriander leaves and chopped mint leaves.
  • Finally add 2 cups basmati rice and 4 cups of water.
  • Mix well and add the saffron milk and check the seasoning.
  • Cover the pressure cooker and cook untill 2 whistles.
  • Then switch off the stove and allow it to cool for sometime.
  • Now your easy and tasty shahi pulao is ready to serve.
  • Shahi pulav goes excellent with rich creamy dishes.
