pulao

Shahi pulao
ingredients:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 onion, finely sliced
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2-4 green chillies or to taste
- 1-2 shah jeera (blach cumin)
- few saffron strands (soak in 1 tbsp of warm milk)
- few coriander leaves, roughly chopped
- few mint leaves, roughly chopped
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp ghee or oil
Shahi pulao
preparation:
- Take a pressure cooker or pot and heat with ghee or
oil.
- Add black cumin (shah jeera). When they start to pop
add sliced onions.
- Saute till the onions become transparent.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and sliced green
chillies.
- Saute till the raw smell disappears or the oil
separates from the mixture.
- Now add chopped coriander leaves and chopped mint
leaves.
- Finally add 2 cups basmati rice and 4 cups of
water.
- Mix well and add the saffron milk and check the
seasoning.
- Cover the pressure cooker and cook untill 2
whistles.
- Then switch off the stove and allow it to cool for
sometime.
- Now your easy and tasty shahi pulao is ready to
serve.
- Shahi pulav goes excellent with rich creamy
dishes.
