Roti or Chapathi

(Indian Breakfast Recipe)

Roti Ingredients:
  • 3 cups wheat flour 
  • 1 cup water           
  • a pinch of salt        
  • 1 tsp of oil             
  • Some flour for dusting

Roti or chapathi preparation:
  • Mix the flour,salt oil and water and make a dough. 
  • Cover the dough and keep restly for 2 hours. 
  • Divide the dough into small balls. 
  • Take some flour and dip the ball. 
  • Keep the dipped ball in a flat surface and roll out into a thin ,round shape with a rolling pin. 
  • Now preheat the tawa over medium heat. 
  • Place the rolled roti on the tava and brush with little oil. 
  • Fry for few seconds until bubbles appear on top. 
  • Then turn it over and brush with little oil. 
  • Fry for another few seconds and remove from the tawa. 
  • Do the remaining roti or chapathis in the same process. 
  • Serve warm with aloo or pickle.
