Rava dosa (Rava dosai/Ravva dosi)

Rava dosa ingredients:

  • 2 cups rava (semolina/sooji)
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour/maida
  • 1/4 " fresh ginger root, minced
  • 1 green chilli or to taste, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp whole peppercorns
  • few coriander leaves, roughly chopped
  • few curry leaves, roughly chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 7 cups water
  • oil for sprinkle

Rawa dosa preparation:

  • Take a bowl and add all the ingredients and mix well.
  • Keep restly for 30-45 mints.
  • After 30 mints the rava mixture absorbs the water.
  • At that time add more water if necessary.
  • The batter should be watery just look like a thick buttermilk.
  • Now your ravva dosai mixture is ready.
  • Heat the tawa. Tawa should be very hot while you pouring the batter.
  • Pour a laddle full batter from the outward base of the tawa in a circular motion and spread the batter to fill the whole tava.
  • Sprinkle 1 tsp of oil on the dosa.
  • Cook on medium flame for 2 mints.
  • Then increase the flame to high and again cook for further 1 more min.
  • Remove the crispy and nice brown colour rava dosa from tava.
  • Serve your easy and tasty rava dosai or ravva dosi with chutney or sambar.
