Kadai paneer

(North indian paneer recipe)

Kadai paneer ingredients:

  • 250 g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 4 onions
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder or to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • few coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • salt to taste

Seasoning ingredients:

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cloves
  • 1" cinnamon stick
  • 2 cardamom (optional)

Kadai paneer preparation:

  • Blanch the onions for 10 mins then make a paste and keep aside.
  • Blanch the tomatoes for 10 mins then remove the skin and make puree and keep aside.
  • Fry the paneer in 3 tsp of ghee till they turn golden brown colour.
  • Then remove from the ghee and put them in cold water.
  • Now heat a pan with with ghee or oil.
  • Add the seasoning ingredients and saute for few seconds.
  • Add oniona paste and saute till the paste turn into golden yellow colour.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  • Add tomato puree and saute for further 5 mins.
  • Then add the chilli powder, coriander powder and turmerici powder.
  • Saute for a second, then add the fried paneer pieces.
  • Mix well and add a cup of water, garam masala and required quantity of salt.
  • Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 10 mins or till you get the desired consitancy.
  • Now switch off the stove and transfer the kadai paneer into serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Now your easy and tasty kadai paneer is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with Roti, paratha or naan.
