Gobi Manchurian

Gobi Manchurian ingredients:

  • Cauliflower - 1 (cut into medium sized florets)  
  • Onion – 1 finely chopped 
  • Green chillies – 5 or to taste (finely chopped) 
  • Garlic flakes – 4 (finely chopped) 
  • Fresh ginger root – ½” (finely minced) 
  • Soya sauce – 1 tbsp 
  • Green chilli sauce – 1 tbsp 
  • Tomato ketchup – 4 tbsp 
  • Spring onions – 1 bunch 
  • Coriander leaves – for garnishing 
  • Oil – 1 tbsp 
  • Salt – to taste   

Batter ingredients: 

  • All purpose flour – ½ cup 
  • Corn flour – ½  cup 
  • Egg – 1 
  • Ginger garlic paste – 3 tsp 
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp or to taste 
  • Salt to taste

Gobi Manchurian preparation:

  • Make a thick batter with the above ingredients. 
  • Heat a deep pan with oil. 
  • Dip the cauliflower florets in the batter and carefully leave into the oil. 
  • Deep fry untill the florets turn into golden brown colour. 
  • Remove from heat and drain the excess of oil and keep aside. 
  • Now heat the separate pan with ½ tbsp of oil. 
  • Add chopped onions, green chillies and saute till they turn into transparent.  
  • Add chopped garlic and minced ginger and saute for few mins. 
  • Now add soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, required quantity of salt and an pinch of red food colour. 
  • Mix well and add the cauliflower florets. 
  • Now increase the flame to high and combine gently untill all the florets are well coated with the sauce. 
  • Finally add coriander leaves and finely chopped spring onions. 
  • Serve hot.
