Dum chicken
ingredients:
- 1 cup thick yoghurt
- 1 onion (finely sliced)
- 1 tsp green chilli paste or to taste
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 4 tbsp cashewnut paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 cup coconut milk
- salt to taste
- coriander leaves for garnishing
Marinate
ingredients:
- 500g chicken
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp green chilli paste
Seasoning
ingredients:
- 2 bay leaf
- 1" cinnamon stick
- 2 cardamom pods
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp oil

Dum chicken
preparation:
- Cut the chicken into bite size pieces, wash
and drain all the water and keep
aside.
- Marinate the chicken with marinate ingredients for 2
hours.
- Heat a heavy bottomed pan with oil and butter.
- Add the seasoning ingredients and saute for a min.
- Add sliced onions and saute untill they turn into
golden brown colour.
- Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste and saute
till the raw smell disappears.
- Now add the marinade chicken, salt and cook for 3-5
mins.
- Add cashewnut paste and stir well.
- Then add coconut milk and garam masala.
- Close with a lid and cook on low flame for 30 mins or
till the chicken pieces become tender.
- Finally adjust salt and garnish with coriander
leaves.
- Dum chicken is ready to serve.
- Serve hot with Roti, paratha,or palin white
rice.
