Chicken tikka masala
ingredients:
- 500g chicken (boneless)
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 1" fresh ginger root
- 5 garlic flakes
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup thich yoghurt or coconut milk
- 2 cardamom pods
- 1" cinnamon stick
- few coriander leaves for garnishing
- salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil
Chicken tikka masala
preparation:
- Cut the chicken into bite size pieces.
- Wash and drain all the water and keep aside.
- Make a paste with ginger, garlic and keep aside.
- Heat a pan with oil and add cardamom and cinnamon.
- Saute for a min and add chopped onions.
- Saute till they turn into golden brown colour.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and salt.
- Saute till they become juicy.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell
disappears.
- Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala
powder and turmeric powder.
- Saute for a min and add washed chicken pieces.
- Mix well and and add little amount of water and cook on
low flame till the chicken pieces become tender.
- Now add thick yoghurt or coconut milk and cook on low
flame for 5-7 mins.
- Finally garnish with coriander leaves and chicken tikki
masala is ready to serve.
