Chicken tikka masala

Chicken tikka masala ingredients:

  • 500g chicken (boneless)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 1" fresh ginger root
  • 5 garlic flakes
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup thich yoghurt or coconut milk
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1" cinnamon stick
  • few coriander leaves for garnishing
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil

Chicken tikka masala preparation:

  • Cut the chicken into bite size pieces.
  • Wash and drain all the water and keep aside.
  • Make a paste with ginger, garlic and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with oil and add cardamom and cinnamon.
  • Saute for a min and add chopped onions.
  • Saute till they turn into golden brown colour.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes and salt.
  • Saute till they become juicy.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  • Now add chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and turmeric powder.
  • Saute for a min and add washed chicken pieces.
  • Mix well and and add little amount of water and cook on low flame till the chicken pieces become tender.
  • Now add thick yoghurt or coconut milk and cook on low flame for 5-7 mins.
  • Finally garnish with coriander leaves and chicken tikki masala is ready to serve.

cooking time: 20-10 mins
