Aloo mutter 

(potato peas kurma or potato peas curry)

 Aloo mutter ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg aloo (peel & cut into 1" cubes)
  • 1 cup mutter (cooked)
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • few coriander leaves for garnishing

Paste ingredients:

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 inch ginger piece
  • 3 garlic flakes
  • 3 green chillies

 Aloo mutter preparation:

  • Make a paste with paste ingredients.
  • Heat a deep pan with oil and add mustard seeds.
  • When they start to pop add the ground paste.
  • Saute till the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the paste.
  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Combine well and saute for few mins.
  • Add potato cubes, mutter and little amount of water.
  • Cover with a lid and bring it to boil.
  • Cook on low flame till the potatoes become tender.
  • Finally adjust salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Aloo mutter or potato peas curry is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with roti, paratha,etc...
