Rasam
(Lime rasam or Lemon
rasam)

Lime Rasam
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe tomato
- 1 green chilli
- ½ of the lemon
- ½ cup toor dal (cooked and mashed)
- 1½ tsp Rasam powder
- 1 cup water
- salt to taste
- few curry leaves
- few coriander leaves for garnishing
Seasoning
Ingredients:
- ¼ tsp mustard seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida
- ¼ tbsp oil

Lemon Rasam
Preparation:
- Heat a deep pan with water.
- When the water starts to boiling add chopped tomatoes,
green chilli, curry leaves, rasam powder and salt (add
water if required).
- After few mins add cooked and mashed toor dal (do not
allow this rasam to boil).
- Remove from the stove and add lime juice and finally
adjust salt.
- Take a sepatate pan and season with seasoning
ingredients.
- Pour on top of the rasam.
- Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Lime rasam is ready to serve.

serves: 2-4
Note:
If you
add lemon juice before switch off the stove it will give
very bitter taste.
