and north:
In South India, breakfast is mainly made of
rice. Some of the famous dishes are idli, Pongal, vada, dosa
and chapati.

These are most often served with chutney
(usually coconut chutney) and Sambar.
Breakfast is usually followed by a cup of
tea or coffee, both made with milk and sugar.
In North, breakfast is mainly flour based such as paratha
breads with fresh butter, cooked spicy vegetables like aloo
sabji (Potato) accompanied by sweets like halwa, jelabi and
sweetened milk.
